A peek, a narrow margin
Something wide and open, perhaps
Something sloppy, perverse even
RADAR is pleased to present GLIMPSE, the first in a series of exhibitions organized as part of a curatorial residency at Color Club in Chicago’s Irving Park neighborhood.
Bringing together six artists—Larissa Borteh, Em Davenport, Kate Hefferan, Shelby Keierleber, Justin Nalley, and Zsofi Valyi-Nagy—GLIMPSE considers image-making as both an exterior and interior practice. Drawing from poetry, film stills, personal archives, and everyday acts of looking, the artists explore how images are constructed through activity and rest, obsession, while considering feelings of truth, trust and absence.
Gallery hours are by appointment (radarmidwest@gmail.com) or available to view Thurs-Sun between 6:00–9:00pm. Please confirm with Color Club (info@colorclub.events) before arrival.

Em Davenport (b. 1999, Missouri) lives and works in Chicago, IL. Her practice involves a critical investigation of how artists operate as both producers and products within contemporary media systems. Using multiple formats—painting, assemblage, writing, and curatorial projects—Davenport examines the systems that circulate images, including how identity, belief, and intimacy are performed and consumed. Davenport’s presentations include Galerie Nicolas Robert, Montreal, QC; Mariposa, Los Angeles, CA; Jessamine, Dallas, TX; Grunt’s Rare Books, Chicago, IL; Entrance, NYC; Emalin, London, EN; Apparatus Projects, Chicago, IL; Rudimento, Quito, EC; Jargon Projects, Chicago, IL; My Perfect Environment, Chicago, IL; and New Works, Chicago, IL.
Kate Hefferan (b. 2001, Boulder CO) is a Chicago-based artist primarily working in painting and drawing. She is occupied with how her smoothed or scumbled surfaces can hold metaphor and memory in their materiality. Her work is often informed by literature on, or experience with, desire, uncertainty, and movement. She received a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2023. Her work has been shown in Chicago with LVL3, Soho House, SAWHORSE, Artruss, Bodock, and Weatherproof, among others. She will present a solo show in Chicago with Point Blank October 16th through November 19th of 2026.
Shelby Keierleber is a visual artist based in Kansas City, Missouri. Her work mostly consists of representational paintings but ventures at times into interactive installation utilizing other mediums. She has shown work across the midwest as well as in Mexico City, Los Angeles, and New York. Her current practice is focused on the airbrush medium and concerned with the importance of the crop of an image in composition.
Justin Nalley (b. 1987, Detroit, MI) is an artist based in New York. His work has recently been included in group exhibitions at Historic Hampton House (Miami), Eidmann Gallery at Tara Downs (NYC), Turquoise (NYC), Shisanwu (Queens), and Everybody (Tucson). Zsofi Valyi-Nagy (b.1990) is a scholar and practitioner of media art based in Los Angeles and an Assistant Professor of Art History at Scripps College. Her multimodal practice explores the past, present, and future of art and technology and its intersections with gender and disability. Zsofi received her PhD in Art History and her BA in Visual Arts from the University of Chicago. As the July 2026 AIR at Latitude, she developed “Intuitive Imaging Industries,” an installation staging the office of Dr. Fifi Robinson, a fictional West Coast healer and inventor of the Intuitive Imaging Instrument™️, a pseudomedical imaging machine that can “see” any ailment by combining radiography with aura photography.
